The BIOMOre project develops an innovative in-situ bioleaching technology for the economic and sustainable extraction of base metals from deep laying ore bodies. After the start of the test work last year, the underground test lab activities at Rudna mine of KGHM in Poland are running well and show promising results. The EC just granted a 6-months extension, which shows the interest of the EC in a proper finalisation of the BIOMOre project. The BIOMOre technology appears being a promising alternative metal winning method for Europe.
It is now very likely that BIOMOre will successfully end in July 2018 with a final event.
