Clustering and networking event

Date: 12 December 2017

Place: Brussels, Belgium

Event: Clustering and networking event in Brussels on 12th December 2017

The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) has been set-up by the European Commission to manage on its behalf several EU programmes, among others also the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 “Climate action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials”.

EASME organised a 1-day cluster and networking event in Brussels on 12th December 2017. The plan is to bring together several representatives of 10-15 currently ongoing H2020 funded mining projects with the aim of engaging H2020 funded ongoing projects with other H2020 funded ongoing projects with the aim of making best use of the current relevance of research to industry, and to create maximum impact for the EU.

The objectives of the cluster and networking event are:

  • To initiate and sustain dialogues among beneficiaries on H2020 projects implementation
  • To encourage potential future collaborations between beneficiaries
  • To recognize current project implementation challenges (vs. proposal stage) from technological, financial, environmental, safety risks and social aspects
  • To discuss follow up potential of the running projects (attention to WP 2018-2020 that will be published by then, with focus on the 2019 and 2020 calls, as well as expectations/suggestions for post 2020 funding tool)

The participation of the industrial partners is highly desirable.

The format is meant to be 1 or 2 parallel morning sessions (presentations, Q&A) while the afternoon time would be reserved for bilateral meetings between H2020 projects/beneficiaries thoroughly prepared well before the actual event. EASME would provide the venue and basic catering.

BIOMOre will be represented by the following delegation: Katarzyna Rogóż (KGHM), Paulina Mołodyńska-Glapska (KGHM), Doris Hiam-Galvez (Hatch), René Kahnt (GEOS), Horst Märten (UIT), Horst Hejny (MinPol).
